Dr Ignacio Walker, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Chile, will visit Singapore from 17 - 18 January 2006 at the invitation of Minister for Foreign Affairs George Yeo. This will be Dr Walker's first official visit to Singapore.
Dr Walker will be accompanied by his wife, Mrs Cecilia Echenique, and senior government officials. On 18 January 2006, Dr Walker will call on Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and Minister George Yeo. Minister Yeo will also host Dr Walker to lunch.
Dr Walker will deliver the Public Lecture "Chile and Latin America in a Globalized World" on 18 January 2006, organised by the Institute of Southeast Asian Studies (ISEAS).
