Travel Advisory for Myanmar

In view of the continuing uncertain security situation in Myanmar, Singaporeans are strongly advised to defer all travel to Myanmar. A state of emergency remains in place across Myanmar. The security situation is unpredictable and can change quickly without notice. Singaporeans currently in Myanmar should also consider leaving as soon as they can by commercial means. Singaporeans who choose to remain in Myanmar are strongly advised to avoid unnecessary travel within the country. There are direct and indirect restrictions on travel by foreigners to many locations. Singaporeans are reminded to remain vigilant and monitor local news closely. Singaporeans should take necessary precautions for their personal safety. As a large part of Myanmar is inaccessible due to the ongoing armed conflict, there may be limits to the consular assistance the Embassy can provide to Singaporeans who choose to remain in Myanmar.

Travel Notice for Mindanao, Philippines

The Philippine Government declared Martial Law on the entire island of Mindanao on 23 May 2017 following clashes between government forces and a terrorist group in Marawi City. The Martial Law was lifted on 1 January 2020 while the state of national emergency in Mindanao was lifted in July 2023. Travellers should note that there continue to be reports of security incidents in various parts of Mindanao, such as bombings, kidnappings, robberies and other violent crimes.

Singaporeans travelling to or residing in the affected areas of Mindanao are strongly advised to take all necessary precautions for their personal safety, including monitoring the local news and heeding the instructions of the local authorities. Singaporeans should exercise vigilance and where possible, avoid crowded places, public gatherings, and areas where there are ongoing police or security operations. Singaporeans should also purchase comprehensive travel insurance and be familiar with the terms and coverage. Given the heightened tensions in the Middle East, Singaporeans travelling to or residing in Jordan are advised to be vigilant and take all the necessary precautions for their personal safety. Travel Notice: Eruption of Mount Lewotobi Laki-Laki

Following the eruption of Mount Lewotobi Laki-Laki on 17 June 2025, the Indonesian authorities have raised the alert level for the volcano to Level 4 (Awas or Warning). Residents and visitors are advised to avoid all activities within 8km of the crater and within a 7km radius in the southwest to northeast sectors.

There have been reports of flight cancellations affecting travel to and from Bali, to and from Lombok, and to and from Labuan Bajo. There have also been reports of airport closures in the surrounding areas, such as on Flores Island.

Singaporeans in the vicinity are advised to exercise caution, follow the instructions of local authorities and monitor local news closely.

In view of the ongoing volcanic activity and related travel disruptions, Singaporeans are encouraged to check for updates from Indonesia’s Volcanology and Geological Disaster Mitigation Agency (PVMBG) at https://vsi.esdm.go.id/ and contact their airlines for the latest travel information before travelling.

Singaporeans are advised to defer all travel to Libya. Incidents of civil unrest and indiscriminate attacks by armed militia groups continue to take place. In May 2025, armed conflicts between rival factions in Tripoli resulted in casualties.

Singapore has no physical diplomatic presence in Libya, which constrains our ability to extend consular assistance. Singaporeans who are still in Libya are advised to leave immediately. Travel Advisory: Situation in Haiti

The Government of Haiti declared a nationwide state of emergency in Haiti on 4 September 2024 due to escalating gang violence. Armed robberies, kidnappings, and civil unrest remain frequent. On 5 May 2025, the state of emergency was extended by a further three months until 5 August 2025.
