There are reports of large-scale demonstrations, violent incidents and casualties in Tanzania, including Dar es Salaam. Telecommunications and internet access have been severely disrupted. Several airlines have also suspended and cancelled flights to and from Tanzania. Curfews have been imposed in Dar es Salaam while demonstrations and roadblocks have disrupted movement.

In view of the volatile situation, Singaporeans are advised to defer non-essential travel to Tanzania.

Singaporeans already in Tanzania are advised to exercise a high degree of caution and remain vigilant, monitor the local news, and heed the advice of the local authorities. They are also advised to avoid large crowds, protests, and demonstrations. Travel Notice: Situation in Peru

On 22 October 2025, the Peru government declared a 30-day state of emergency in the capital, Lima, and the neighbouring Callao province due to rising crime and violence that have resulted in multiple deaths. The police and military are allowed to enter homes and effect arrest without warrants. Civil liberties, such as the right to assembly, may be suspended.

Singaporeans are advised to exercise a high degree of caution when visiting Peru, and to take all necessary precautions for their personal safety, including monitoring the local news and heeding the instructions of local authorities.

Large-scale demonstrations have taken place in Madagascar since 25 September 2025. There are reports of violent incidents and casualties, and curfews have been imposed in several cities including the capital Antananarivo. Several airlines have also suspended/cancelled their flights to and from Madagascar.

Kathmandu experienced widespread and violent protests in early September. In view of the uncertain situation which can deteriorate suddenly, Singaporeans are advised to defer non-essential travel to Nepal.

In view of the continuing uncertain security situation in Myanmar, Singaporeans are strongly advised to defer all travel to Myanmar. A state of emergency remains in place across Myanmar. The security situation is unpredictable and can change quickly without notice. Singaporeans currently in Myanmar should also consider leaving as soon as they can by commercial means. Singaporeans who choose to remain in Myanmar are strongly advised to avoid unnecessary travel within the country. There are direct and indirect restrictions on travel by foreigners to many locations. Singaporeans are reminded to remain vigilant and monitor local news closely. Singaporeans should take necessary precautions for their personal safety. As a large part of Myanmar is inaccessible due to the ongoing armed conflict, there may be limits to the consular assistance the Embassy can provide to Singaporeans who choose to remain in Myanmar.

Travel Notice for Mindanao, Philippines

The Philippine Government declared Martial Law on the entire island of Mindanao on 23 May 2017 following clashes between government forces and a terrorist group in Marawi City. The Martial Law was lifted on 1 January 2020 while the state of national emergency in Mindanao was lifted in July 2023. Travellers should note that there continue to be reports of security incidents in various parts of Mindanao, such as bombings, kidnappings, robberies and other violent crimes.

Singaporeans travelling to or residing in the affected areas of Mindanao are strongly advised to take all necessary precautions for their personal safety, including monitoring the local news and heeding the instructions of the local authorities. Travel Notice: Eruption of Mount Lewotobi Laki-Laki

Following the eruption of Mount Lewotobi Laki-Laki on 17 June 2025, the Indonesian authorities have raised the alert level for the volcano to Level 4 (Awas or Warning). Residents and visitors are advised to avoid all activities within 8km of the crater and within a 7km radius in the southwest to northeast sectors.

There have been reports of flight cancellations affecting travel to and from Bali, to and from Lombok, and to and from Labuan Bajo. There have also been reports of airport closures in the surrounding areas, such as on Flores Island.

Singaporeans in the vicinity are advised to exercise caution, follow the instructions of local authorities and monitor local news closely.
