ON THE POSTPONEMENT OF THE 13TH ASEAN-EC JOINT COOPERATION COMMITTEE MEETING
In response to press queries, the 丝瓜视频Spokesman said that it is a pity that the 13th ASEAN-EC Joint Cooperation Committee Meeting (JCC), scheduled for 24-27 Jan 99 in Bangkok, has been postponed over differences between ASEAN and the EU on the modality of Myanmar's participation. This is the second postponement. It was originally scheduled to be held in Bangkok in Nov 97.
As Singapore considers the ASEAN-EU relationship important, we hope that the JCC Meeting can be held soon. We fully support the efforts made by Thailand, as country coordinator of the ASEAN-EU Dialogue, to resolve the impasse.
