MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS PRESS STATEMENT

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs Operations Centre in Singapore, the Singapore Permanent Mission to the United Nations in New York and the Singapore Embassy in Washington D.C. continues 24-hour operations.

As of 2130 hrs (Singapore time), two of the four Singaporeans, who were earlier believed to have been in the vicinity of the World Trade Centre in New York and who had been unaccounted for, have now been located. Our Mission in New York has made contact with them and they are safe. Our Mission is still trying to account for the other two.

So far, 345 Singaporeans have contacted the Ministry to register their relatives and friends. This information has been sent to both our missions in the US.
