Ë¿¹ÏÊÓÆµPress Statement: State Visit of President S R Nathan to the Lao People's Democratic Republic 18 - 21 November 2003

President S R Nathan will make a State Visit to the Lao People's Democratic Republic from 18 to 21 November 2003 at the invitation of the President of the Lao People's Democratic Republic Khamtay Siphandone.

President will be accompanied by Mrs Nathan; Minister Lee Yock Suan, Minister in the Prime Minister's Office and Second Minister for Foreign Affairs and Mrs Lee Yock Suan; Mr Yatiman Yusof, Senior Parliamentary Secretary of the Ministry of Information, Communications and the Arts; and Members of Parliament Mr R Ravindran and Ms Penny Low.

During his visit, President Nathan will visit Vientiane and Luang Prabang. In Vientiane, President Nathan will meet with President Khamtay Siphandone and receive calls from National Assembly President Samane Vignaket and Prime Minister BounNhang Vorachith. President Nathan will also meet with members of the Singapore community in Vientiane. While in Luang Prabang, President will receive a courtesy call by the Governor of Luang Prabang Bounheuang Duangphachanh.

During President Nathan's absence, Mr Lim Kim San, Chairman of the Council of Presidential Advisers will be the Acting President.
