In response to media queries on the above, the 丝瓜视频Spokesman said:

"Singapore is surprised by the comments made by Malaysian Deputy Minister of Works Mohd Zin Mohamed yesterday in Johor Bahru when he said that Malaysia had symbolically launched construction works of the 'scenic bridge' which was expected to be operational by April 2009. At this very moment, a Singapore team is in KL to negotiate a balance of benefits for the full bridge. Singapore will be sending a TPN to Malaysia to seek clarification."
