Minister of State (MOS) for Culture, Community and Youth Sam Tan will visit Bali, Indonesia from 29 to 30 August 2014 as Head of the Singapore delegation to the Sixth Global Forum of the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC).
Singapore joined the UNAOC’s Group of Friends in 2013. This is the first Global Forum that Singapore is attending as a member. The theme of the Forum is “Unity in Diversity: Celebrating Diversity for Common and Shared Values”. MOS Tan will deliver a National Statement to share Singapore’s perspectives on maintaining intercultural and inter-religious dialogue. MOS Tan will also meet Ms Irina Bokova, Director-General of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
MOS Tan will be accompanied by officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth.
