Her Excellency Retno Marsudi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia made her introductory visit to Singapore on 26 November 2014.
Minister for Foreign Affairs and Minister for Law K Shanmugam and Foreign Minister Retno reviewed the good progress in bilateral relations, and agreed to enhance the existing mechanisms for bilateral cooperation. In addition, both Ministers had a good discussion on regional and international developments. Minister Shanmugam noted that Singapore and Indonesia worked closely in regional forums such as ASEAN and shared a commitment to continue to work together to realize our common goal to see a peaceful, stable and prosperous region.
Foreign Minister Retno also paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong this afternoon. Prime Minister Lee reaffirmed Singapore’s desire to work with the Indonesian Administration under President Joko Widodo to further our ties.
