丝瓜视频Press Statement: Visit by Senior Minister of State for Defence and Senior Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Dr Mohamad Maliki Bin Osman to Indonesia, 22 to 24 October 2015

Senior Minister of State for Defence and Senior Minister of State for Foreign Affairs (SMS) Dr Mohamad Maliki Bin Osman attended the Indian Ocean Rim Association (IORA) 15th Council of Ministers Meeting in Padang, Indonesia on 23 October 2015. The meeting reviewed the progress made by IORA since the last meeting in 2014, and discussed ways to enhance regional cooperation in the Indian Ocean Rim. The meeting also discussed cooperation under the theme “Strengthening Maritime Cooperation in a Peaceful and Stable Indian Ocean” as proposed by Indonesia, the current IORA Chair.

SMS Maliki also met Indonesian Vice Foreign Minister A. M. Fachir on the sidelines of the Council of Ministers Meeting. They affirmed the strength of the Singapore-Indonesia bilateral relationship as well as the opportunities for further cooperation. He also took the opportunity to meet with counterparts from Australia, India, Mauritius, Sri Lanka and South Africa before departing for Jakarta.
