            Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Vivian Balakrishnan will attend the ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Retreat in Vientiane, Lao PDR, from 26 to 27 February 2016.

            This is the first in a series of ASEAN meetings that the Lao PDR will be hosting as Chair of ASEAN in 2016.  As the first ASEAN ministerial-level meeting to be held since the establishment of the ASEAN Community, the Foreign Ministers will discuss the implementation of the ASEAN Community Vision 2025.  They will also exchange views on ASEAN’s external relations, and on regional and international issues.

            Minister Balakrishnan will be accompanied by officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
