The Singapore Government is saddened to learn of the loss of lives and the destruction of homes caused by the collapse of the dam in Attapeu province in Laos on Monday 23 July 2018. Our deepest sympathies are with those who are affected.  Singapore has offered to provide aid and immediate supplies in the affected areas to assist with the flood relief efforts. 

 

The Lao government has declared a state of emergency in Sanamxai District.  The extent of the damage and number of casualties are still unclear.  Thus far, the Singapore Embassy in Vientiane has not received reports of any Singaporeans affected by the floods.  Singaporeans who require consular assistance can contact the Singapore Embassy in Vientiane or the Ë¿¹ÏÊÓÆµDuty Office (24-hours) at:
