Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong will visit Jakarta, Indonesia, from 19 to 20 October 2019 to attend the inauguration of His Excellency Joko Widodo for a second term as President of the Republic of Indonesia.

Prime Minister Lee will personally offer his congratulations to President Joko Widodo. Prime Minister Lee will also reaffirm Singapore’s commitment to further strengthen the existing excellent bilateral relationship, including through the various areas of cooperation discussed at the Singapore-Indonesia Leaders’ Retreat on 8 October 2019.

Prime Minister Lee will be accompanied by Mrs Lee Hsien Loong, Minister for Education Ong Ye Kung, and officials from the Prime Minister’s Office and Ministry of Foreign Affairs. During the absence of the Prime Minister, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance Heng Swee Keat will be the Acting Prime Minister.
