Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Vivian Balakrishnan called on His Excellency President Isaac Herzog today. President Herzog and Minister Balakrishnan reaffirmed the deep and enduring relationship between Singapore and Israel.
Minister Balakrishnan welcomed the strengthening of people-to-people ties as we look towards a post-pandemic future. He noted the historic and multifaceted contributions made by the Singapore Jewish community to Singapore’s development as a multi-ethnic and multi-religious society. President Herzog and Minister Balakrishnan also had a free flowing and wide-ranging exchange of views on regional and global developments.
Later today, Minister Balakrishnan will meet His Excellency Health Minister Nitzan Horowitz to exchange views on managing the COVID-19 pandemic.
Minister Balakrishnan departs Israel tomorrow for a working visit to the United Arab Emirates.
