Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong's Telephone Call with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, 21 February 2023

Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi had a telephone call in conjunction with the joint virtual launch of the PayNow-UPI linkage.

The Prime Ministers reaffirmed the strong, broad-based, and forward-looking relationship between Singapore and India, underpinned by frequent high-level exchanges and robust cooperation across various sectors.

The Prime Ministers further noted the India-Singapore Ministerial Roundtable’s (ISMR) value as a platform to engage in new bilateral initiatives. They expressed hope for this strong partnership to create more cross-border opportunities, to further contribute to enhancing trade and people-to-people ties.
