Visit by Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong to Tokyo, Japan, 15 to 18 December 2023

Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong will visit Tokyo, Japan from 15 to 18 December 2023 to attend the Commemorative Summit for the 50^th Year of ASEAN-Japan Friendship and Cooperation. Prime Minister Lee will be accompanied by Mrs Lee, Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Vivian Balakrishnan, as well as officials from the Prime Minister’s Office and Ministry of Foreign Affairs. At the Commemorative Summit, ASEAN and Japan will discuss ways to deepen and broaden the ASEAN-Japan Dialogue Partnership, including in emerging areas such as the digital and green economies. The Leaders will have discussions on regional and global issues of mutual concern. During his visit, Prime Minister Lee will also have bilateral meetings with Japanese Prime Minister Kishida Fumio and other Japanese personalities.

During Prime Minister Lee’s absence, Mr Teo Chee Hean, Senior Minister and Coordinating Minister for National Security, will be the Acting Prime Minister from 15 to 18 December 2023.
