Mr. Aswani is currently serving his fifth term as Singapore's Honorary Consul-General to Nigeria.

Mr. Aswani was honoured with Chieftaincy title in May 2005 inrecognition of his commitment to the economic development of Nigeria and the Ota community in particular. Mr. Aswani organised the first Nigeria-Singapore Investment Forum in Singapore on 21 February 2003. It was a very successful event and it attracted almost 500 potential investors from the region. The dignitaries included President Olusegun Obasanjo, two State Governors, four senior Ministers and key government officials.

Mr. Aswani is currently the Vice-Chaiman of the Africa Business Group in Singapore, supported bythe Singapore Business Federation. Mr. Aswani was named "Most Outstanding Industrialist of the Year (Employment Generation)" from the Ogun State Chapter of the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN). Group company, De-United Food Industries was named "Most Outstanding in Corporate Social Responsibility Company of theYear" on 27 November 2005.

Mr. Aswani was awarded the prestigious National Honour of MFR (Member of the Order of the Federal Republic of Nigeria) in December 2006.
