The Natasha Goulbourn Foundation (NGF), in cooperation with the Singapore Embassy in Manila, presented “Jazz Beyond the Blues” on 10 September 2018. The event, held to coincide with the World Suicide Prevent Day, aimed to bring awareness of mental health issues, and showcased jazz as music for mental wellness. It brought together jazz performers Rani Singam and Andrew Lim from Singapore, Serge Le Goueff from Australia, as well as Bituin Escalante, Michael Williams and Nicole Asensio from the Philippines. The performers were accompanied by AMP Big Band, under the musical direction of Mel Villena. The night ended with a standing ovation, as the performers shared the stage for one final performance.
