National Service Matters

Under Singapore's Enlistment Act (Chapter 93), all male Singapore citizens and permanent residents are liable for NS after they reach the age of 16.5 years old.

The Enlistment Act also stipulates that all citizens and permanent residents liable for NS who have reached 13 years old and above must apply for an Exit Permit if they intend to travel and remain overseas for three months or longer.

For queries from citizens or permanent residents on the NS obligations of their children with dual citizenship or intention to renounce their citizenship or permanent resident status, please refer their queries to CMPB@starnet.gov.sg.
